I was glad to find these clips since baby stores have such a limited selection and I wanted to match a jungle-theme blanket for display.The clips themselves are plastic, without any spring so they open by tension.The ends of the clips have teeth to grip your quilt.I wish the paint work on the lion's face was more uniform.I later realized these can be made very inexpensively:the pre-painted chipboard characters cost less than a dollar at a nearby crafts store, and a glue gun affixes the plastic clip to the chipboard cutout.So clearly there is a 100% markup on the product + 50% for shipping, however I applaud cottage industry and for a busy mom these may be very worthwhile...perhaps some of the profits may contribute to another child's education or children's charity.
