This comforter is definitely pleasing to the touch. It is soft and supple. The color is nice--very versatile. My only complaint would be that it's not very heavy. It just doesn't feel very substantial when you're under it. And because of its light weight it's not the warmest thing out there, either. If you're looking for warmth, spend a few more dollars on something a bit more substantial. This would be a really nice summer set for any bed, and for the price it can't be beat.One word of warning: the picture shows the comforter on a smaller bed so the drop of the comforter looks longer. This is a marketing tactic and it is used on almost ALL bedding. That having been said, the actual drop of this comforter is sufficient to barely cover our entire 14" standard king-size mattress on the sides, but not at the foot of the bed. We have a foot board so it's not a big deal, but buyer beware.
