Review of Tommy Hilfiger Hyannisport Comforter Set

Tommy Hilfiger Hyannisport Comforter SetI have had this comforter for about a year and a half, and I guess I'm shopping for something else now.I have been disappointed with the quality of this set for the price. The (red/tan stripe) fabric of the bedskirt and Euro shams has seemed to get "more textured" over time and now is almost pilled.I washed them in the machine once and of course they looked even worse then. And we don't make a habit of lying on the shams or anything; at our house they are pretty much for decoration and get removed from the bed every night when we sleep. The biggest complaint we have is about the comforter. We have only washed it ONE time; we took it to a professional cleaners (not a drycleaner) because it won't fit in our washing machine. After we got it back home, we realized that 95% of the stitching on the comforter had come out.Of course this causes the fill inside to move all around and it's also balled up in places so now it looks all lumpy when the bed is made.So it's lumpy AND looks "cheap" with no stitching.I'm not blaming it on the cleaners because I took my previous (Nautica) comforter there and it came home looking great, stitching and all.The lining fabric (red/white stripe) of this comforter also has a couple of small tears. It seems like it's from the stress of being pulled off an on the bed every day when I make it.In my opinion, the lining fabric is too thin to support such a heavy comforter.I will never buy Tommy bedding again.I am currently searching for Nautica bedding again because our previous set was the nicest we'd ever had; it lasted for years and not months!

Product Description
The four-piece Hyannisport queen comforter set brings the beauty and warmth of a sunny garden setting into the bedroom. A plush comforter, two standard shams, and a generous bedskirt comprise the all-cotton set, with the skirt's red-and-tan awning stripes on herringbone weave creating a cheerful base for the rich, red-and-cream floral motif of the comforter. A wide flange and white piping put a crisp finish on both comforter and matching shams, with jump and tack stitching over a 100-percent polyester fill enhancing the comforter's plump softness. Add the Hyannisport queen sheet set (sold separately), with a red ticking stripe design that matches the reverse side of the comforter, to pull the whole look together. Zippered closures on the shams make removal for washing easy. Machine wash and dry. The queen comforter measures 92 inches wide by 96 inches long.
